Virgin Australia Increase Domestic Flying And Give Travellers More Flexibility

Virgin Australia B737-800 (Tom Goward)

Following the Federal Government’s decision to continue funding a ‘minimum domestic network’ package, Virgin Australia has announced plans to double their current capacity next month. The airline is set to add 30,000 seats across 320 flights per week, with a staggered introduction starting on July 6th.

Virgin Australia will also increase booking flexibility for travellers by waiving change fees for both domestic and international bookings.

Virgin Australia Group Chief Commercial Officer John MacLeod mentioned that Virgin Australia’s increased services would be a “welcomed boost to Australia’s tourism industry and help the nation’s economy and aviation sector to rebuild.” He also suggested that increased flying would give the airline the opportunity to bring staff back to work.
