It’s fair to say that the coronavirus pandemic has caused extensive disruption to the travel industry. Because of this, consumers are in for some pretty generous travel deals over the coming months.
Right now, Etihad Airways are running an incredible offer where you can receive 50% bonus value on travel voucher purchases until 24 June! This deal could turn out to be very valuable to those who are thinking of travelling once restrictions ease.
When you purchase an Etihad Travel Voucher from US$250 up to US$65,000, Etihad will add 50% to the value purchased. Travel vouchers are valid for two years and can be used to purchase flights, upgrades and extras from August 1, 2020. This offer ends on June 24.
You can even use the voucher to book flights for others, although the booking will be managed by the person who purchased the voucher.
How do I buy a voucher?
Customers must call the Etihad Airways contact centre (+61 1300 532 215 from Australia), which is open 24/7 for calls from most counties. You won’t be able to purchase a voucher online.
Will Etihad collapse?
It’s no secret that Etihad was struggling well before the virus started, and with such a tempting offer you would assume the airline might be attempting to raise money. Without insider knowledge, it’s very difficult to say whether Etihad will survive or not. In saying that, I would be surprised if the airline were allowed to fail simply because they are the flag carrier of the UAE and the second-largest airline in the country.
